Accountant (Remote)

As a versatile Accountant at MAJOR, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both our organization and our esteemed clients with their accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and tax preparation and filing needs. Your expertise in both for-profit and non-profit accounting will be instrumental in driving financial success for our clients and will contribute to our shared vision of empowering and uplifting minority-owned businesses through sound financial management.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, financial reconciliations, and reporting.

  • Assist MAJOR and our clients in maintaining accurate financial records and bookkeeping.

  • Process payroll and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and budgets for MAJOR and our clients to ensure compliance and strategic planning.

  • Provide expert advice and support to MAJOR and our clients in tax preparation and filing.

  • Stay informed about changing tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Collaborate with MAJOR and our clients to address financial challenges and develop financial strategies for growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and tax preparation.

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial reporting, and tax regulations.

  • Proficiency in Quickbooks, Wave, Gusto and Google Workspace.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
